Rules of Leave, Absence & Late Arrival

Rules of Leave, Absence & Late Arrival

At Asian International Residential School (CBSE), regular attendance and punctuality are essential to ensure academic success and discipline. We expect students to be present on all working days and arrive on time. The following rules are designed to maintain consistency and responsibility among students and parents.

Attendance Policy

  • Every student must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance in an academic year.
  • Failing to meet this requirement may result in disqualification from promotion or restrictions from appearing in public/board examinations.
  • Attendance on reopening days, after all holidays (including term and annual breaks), is compulsory.

Leave Application Guidelines

  • Leave of absence must be requested in writing by the parent/guardian:
    • For up to 2 days: Addressed to the Class Teacher.
    • For more than 2 days: Addressed to the Principal.
  • In cases of unforeseen absence, parents must submit the leave application on the day the student returns to school.
  • Medical leave of two or more days must be supported by a doctor's certificate, and the parent is expected to meet the Principal in person.

Late Arrival Rules

  • School gates close sharply at 8:50 AM.
  • Students arriving late will be allowed only three times per term, and each instance must be justified with a valid reason.
  • Beyond three instances, latecomers must meet the Principal before entering class and will not be admitted without permission.
  • Habitual latecomers may face disciplinary action or restrictions from class participation.

Make-Up Work

  • It is the student’s responsibility to catch up on classwork, homework, and assignments missed during their absence.
  • Teachers will provide support, but proactive follow-up by the student is required.

Health-Related Absences

Students recovering from contagious diseases must follow the mandatory quarantine period and submit a fitness certificate upon return. Refer to Section 13 (Health and Hygiene) for detailed health policies.

By adhering to these attendance rules, students learn accountability, time management, and respect for their educational journey. We request full cooperation from parents to maintain a culture of punctuality and responsibility.
